Year in Review: Project combines art and technology
Editors note: This is the second in a series of articles highlighting the 2011-12 school year.
Seniors at Tech Valley High School are taking technology and infusing it into the world of art.
Seniors Siana Botts and Lawrence Greene recently shadowed in a picture onto a white canvas using a projector and graphite. Greene, of Cohoes, first created the composition in the Photoshop computer program that combines a photo of himself with Chinese characters and a looking ball.
The project focuses on the concept of the Spanish word for home Querencia – where you feel most comfortable, teacher Ed Coolidge said.
The concept for the project is to design a piece of art work that demonstrates you at your most comfortable place while describing who you are.
Greene said the Chinese characters represent each of his brothers and the artwork demonstrates his making them part of who he is.
