Freshmen selected by lottery
And the winner is ..... nearly three-dozen area students.
Tech Valley High School officials recently conducted a lottery for students seeking a spot in the freshman class next fall. The regional public high school chose 33 students whose home school districts indicated a willingness to send them to TVHS.
If all 33 students attend TVHS, it will be the largest incoming class at the school since 2009, Principal Dan Liebert said.
The 16 home school districts from which the students were selected were notified of the selection last week to notify the students. Notices from TVHS to the students are being mailed this week.
"Tech Valley gives the districts the opportunity to share the good news with the students first," said counselor Dean Walker.
Orientation for the new students is scheduled for May 19.
