How did tech valley help shape your future?
I-Term played a very big part, especially Senior Project. I’ve always been into math and enjoy business, so I explored business and engineering for my I-Term projects through junior year. For my Senior Project, I spent two weeks working in the business office at the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District. I got the opportunity to delve into the school district’s budget. I really liked the finance aspect of the job, so that’s what I’m going to college for.

What Skills did you gain by coming to TVHS?
Collaboration skills and presentation skills. It was good exposure for what I expect to see in college, especially presenting to large groups, or people I have never met.

Why did you choose to come to Tech Valley High?
I like the unique style of learning, especially working in teams. Project-based learning teaches the skills that people need to succeed in the 21st century.

What are your favorite memories of Tech Valley High?
I enjoyed the Food Justice project my freshman year. We went to a site in Albany to test the soil for sustainability. I really liked the hands-on work we did, and it was something I never thought I would have done. I also really liked the Tech Valley clubs. It gave us time in the morning to chat and have a good time. I made some pretty good friends; people I never would have seen in my life otherwise, because we come from all over the place.

Any advice for underclassmen?
Take advantage of opportunities, especially Senior Project and I-Term. Both helped me figure out what I want to do in my future career.

Senior Share:
I helped coach baseball for 13-16 year olds in Brunswick. I have loved baseball since I was a kid. I think it’s awesome to teach youth new skills, and when you see someone execute something you taught them, it’s really gratifying.
