How did Tech valley High help shape your future?
During I-Term my junior year, I decided pharmacy was a field I wanted to study. The pharmacist I worked with gave us a presentation and talked about what it’s like to become a pharmacist, and the courses of study that you need. She told us how it can really help benefit people. I do community service at the Salvation Army in Hudson by serving monthly dinners. I get that same feeling helping people through medicine when I did my senior project at Marra’s Pharmacy as I do helping people through my service projects in the community. A graduation requirement at Tech Valley High is to do 100 hours of community service. Even though I completed it, I’m still volunteering because I really do have a passion for it and I know that becoming a pharmacist will help me continue my passions.

What skills did you gain by coming to Tech valley high?
I’ve really developed on my communication skills. When I first came here, I was very shy. After coming here, making friends, and getting communication experiences by talking to business partners and community members through projects, I’ve found that I really like learning about people and what they do.

What are your favorite memories?
Spirit Week for all four years were my favorite memories at Tech Valley High. Group Day with my friends was always our specialty. I also liked my trip down to Chinatown with my friends. Learning about the Chinese culture was very fascinating. One last thing I am going to miss are the clubs, especially Puzzle League.

What will you miss the most after you graduate?
I will definitely miss the projects and outcomes of finishing them. During my time here, I did great outreach to local businesses and the community as a whole, and I want to continue that as I go to college.

Senior Share:
I started working at Operation Unite, a not-for-profit organization. They help students like me by giving them community service experiences to enhance their resumes and benefit the people in our community. They help me back by giving me educational support that I need. Their goal is to help me graduate. I’ve made a lot of friends and met a lot of people, and the organization has helped me be very involved in my community.
