Snapshot and Study Tours

Elected officials and educators tour TVHSTech Valley High School in conjunction with the Center for 21st Century Teaching and Learning (CTL) offer dozens of professional development tours of Tech Valley High School during the school year.

The tours of TVHS are designed for those interested in learning more about the school.

CTL, which oversees the sharing of TVHS’s knowledge with educators and business leaders, is offering a 90-minute and a three-hour tour of the school.

The 90-minute “snapshot” tour features information on the principles and practices of the school and provides tourists an opportunity to observe a classroom in action. A question-and-answer session with faculty, students and administrators follows.

The three-hour “study tour” provides a deep exploration of project-based learning and college and career standards as they are included into TVHS classes. The tours features a classroom learning walk, a look at what tour attendees hope to learn, a student and teacher panel discussion and a general overview of project design at TVHS, as well as a debriefing and discussion on what the next steps are for tour attendees.

The first snapshot tour of the 2014-15 school year will take place on Thursday, Oct. 2. The tours will then take place the first Wednesday of the month throughout the rest of the year. The tours begin at 10 a.m.

You can sign up to get a snapshot of TVHS in action here.

Dates and times for study tours throughout the year will be posted here soon.
