Tech Valley High School® in conjunction with the The Center for 21st Century Teaching and Learning (CTL) will offer dozens of professional development tours of Tech Valley High School during the 2013-14 school year.
The tours of TVHS - the only school of its kind in New York State - are designed for those interested in learning more about the school.
CTL, which oversees the sharing of TVHS’s knowledge with educators and business leaders, is offering a 90-minute and a three-hour tour of the school.
The 90-minute “snapshot” tour features information on the principles and practices of the school and provides tourists an opportunity to observe a classroom in action. A question-and-answer session with faculty, students and administrators follows.
The three-hour “study tour” provides a deep exploration of project-based learning and college and career standards as they are included into TVHS classes. The tours features a classroom learning walk, a look at what tour attendees hope to learn, a student and teacher panel discussion and a general overview of project design at TVHS, as well as a debriefing and discussion on what the next steps are for tour attendees.
Snapshot tours, which are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., will take place on the following dates.
